PETER McLEOD -
Citroen Dealer for 28 yrs. and respected Racing Team builder
and driver.
After seeing an article in Playboy Magazine
in 1972, describing the SM as the most beautiful body
in the world, Peter decided he had to have one and investigated
the car more fully. A genuine love of all Citroens soon developed
and in 1974 Peter became the Citroen Dealer for Wollongong,
NSW.
After selling lots of CXs and GSs, his first SM was purchased
in 1977 from Slough U.K. It was a 1975 SC series and had
travelled
19,000 ml., it had been Eurocars Londons' last demo and
was the last SM officialally imported to the U.K. It was
returned to Australia
following a holiday touring the Continent, and after adorning
the Citroen stand at the 1977 Sydney Motor Show, the conversion
to R.H.D. began.
Following a 10 year apprenticeship developing knowledge and
skills with this car, other SMs were acquired, the current
count is 16, and buying trips to the US and Europe are getting
more regular. During this time a web of contacts and a refined
restoration procedure were developed, allowing Peter the
scope and flexibility to explore all avenues of SM refurbishment.
Now with a dedicated restoration workshop, parts warehouse
and staff, Peters passion and his hands-on approach
provides a specialised and efficient base for the re-creation
of these most rare automotive masterpieces. |

V8 Super Cars until 1996.
